Moddex QLD handrails and balustrades lead Australia in innovation and cost savings
Queensland construction and mining sites enjoy the fruits of Australian innovation when it comes to balustrades and handrails. Servicing the vast state that is Queensland for over ten years, Sentaur is widely recognised for its passion in supplying modular systems and products that protect people and property. “We have a simple goal. It’s to streamline, simplify and make safe the lives of product specifiers, installers and end users alike,” said Sentaur’s Managing Director, Alvin Rowland. The company represents the unique Moddex range of handrails, balustrades and barrier systems throughout Brisbane and all areas of Queensland, and in doing so is part of the ongoing development of the state of Queensland. Modular design offers cost advantages Moddex modular systems offer revolutionary advantages to all industries requiring barriers to ensure the safety of people and the protection of property in all applications throughout Queensland. The comprehensive range includes disability handrails, pedestrian barriers, commercial and industrial balustrade and guardrail systems, bikeway barriers and modular structures. Being fully modular, no welding or fabrication is needed resulting in the market’s most rapid and easily installed galvanised guardrail system requiring no specialist trades or tools. Unlike conventional systems, the risk of corrosion at the weld area is reduced, as the galvanised surface is not burnt off by welding. The tamper proof systems comply with all Australian Standards, DDA and NCC/BCA requirements. Moddex is supplied in a range of paint finishes to suit any application. “Sentaur’s design and sales staff are totally focused in providing all customers, no matter where they are located throughout Queensland with a quality handrail solution and extraordinary service, second to none,” said Rowland. Handrail and balustrade applications Modular, no-weld handrails can be used in a variety of applications throughout city areas such as Brisbane and the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast areas as well as the remotest parts of Queensland./
In flammable environments in particular, such as gas plants, there are several advantages. For example, should handrails need to be welded, there would be a need for part of the plant to be shut down due to safety concerns about sparks from welding. This can mean shutting down expensive equipment as well as workmen having to down tools. Conversely, with the Moddex range of modular barriers, there is an ability to work around a plant that is running. And fire spotters are also no longer needed. Sentaur has also worked in the mining and resource sector where handrails get damaged or knocked down regularly. Traditional handrail systems can have long wait times for welders to install the barriers. However, due to safety concerns, the handrails need to be replaced as soon as possible. Modular handrail and balustrade systems can be configured safely and quickly. “We can have the product delivered within one day just about anywhere in Queensland, whereas if a company is waiting for a fabricator to pull the handrail system together, you could lose a week or two just waiting to get the product," concluded Rowland.
